A gruesome discovery was made in the early hours of yesterday morning in the township of Alexandria, leaving residents reeling in shock and horror.
A newborn baby was found buried in a Weet-Bix box in a shallow grave in a backyard in Salmntu street. The baby, believed to be just a few days old, was discovered by a neighbor who was out walking her dog.
“I was walking my dog when I saw something strange in the yard,” said the neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous. “As I got closer, I realized it was a Weet-Bix box, and then I saw the baby’s foot sticking out. I was horrified!”
Police were called to the scene, and the baby’s body was taken to the local mortuary for an autopsy.
Captain Mayile , spokesperson for the local police. Said ”It’s a shocking and disturbing incident,” We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death and burial. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
The discovery has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing outrage and sadness.
local resident Nowinile Vuza (59) said “It’s heartbreaking to think that someone could do this to a defenseless baby,” said Nowinile. “We need to find out who did this and make sure they face justice.”
