After months of frustration and pleas for help, the roads in KwaNobuhle are finally getting the attention they deserve. Following our expose on March 11, 2025, titled “KWANOBUHLE ROADS IN SHAMBLES AFTER BRIDGE COLLAPSE,”
The authorities have swung into action, and construction crews are now busily repairing the damaged roads.
The collapse of the Matanzima Bridge had brought the township to a standstill, forcing motorists to rely on alternative routes that were rapidly deteriorating. However, thanks to the spotlight shone by Daily Kasi News, the municipality has prioritized the repairs, and the roads are slowly but surely being restored.
Residents, who had grown weary of the potholes and rough terrain, are breathing a sigh of relief.
A grateful resident Mandisa Oliphant (34) told Daily Kasi News “It’s about time, We’ve been complaining about this for years, and it’s great to see something being done about it.” said Mandisa
The construction crew’s presence is a welcome sight, and residents are hopeful that the repairs will bring much-needed relief.
Baron Kupido municipality spokesperson said “Municipality has assured residents that the repairs are part of a larger plan to upgrade the township’s infrastructure.
“We’re committed to ensuring that KwaNobuhle’s roads are safe and accessible for all residents,” said Kupido .
“We appreciate the attention brought to this issue by Daily Kasi News and are working tirelessly to address the problem.”
As the construction continues, residents are optimistic about the future. “This is a step in the right direction,” said another resident.
“We hope that this momentum will carry over into other areas of our community, and we’ll start to see some real progress.” The repairs are expected to be completed soon, and residents are eagerly anticipating the improved roads.
