NYANSI KILLER: ” I’M VERY SORRY!

Tuesday, 10 June.Abednigo Mbuyane (40) was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment by the Gqeberha High Court for the murder of his wife’s Nyansi (side chick), Thamsanqa Nkosi (34).

Nkosi, who was a provincial traffic inspectorate officer, was gunned down on 15 April 2023 at Njoli square outside Zwide after Mbuyane found him with his wife.

Mbuyane told the court when he wanted to confront his wife, the deceased interjected and a fight broke out. He said he was angry and confused and took out his service pistol, shot Nkosi twice and left the scene.

Roelofse said the state did not prove beyond reasonable doubt that Mbuyane had planned to kill the deceased. He said on the day of the incident, Mbuyane never knew his life and that of the victim’s family would 

Roelofse said Mbuyane’s action had a negative impact on the victim’s family.”To show mercy l order that your sentence runs from 15 April 2023 when you were arrested. Your sentence will run concurrently. Unfortunately, no sentence can satisfy everybody, but the court has taken into account everything and must find balance.

There is always mercy to people who say sorry.

Your behaviour will determine your future. Take care of yourself,” he said.

“I would like to apologise to everything what has happened to the Nkosi family. I am very sorry and would like to apologise to the community and also like to apologise to the court,” he said.
